Oh my god. They just created a “heterosexual awesomeness month” (by they i mean some guy in America)
before i go on a rant about this, let me get one thing straight.
IT. IS. OK. TO. BE. HETERO. AND. CIS.
but you dont NEED a month because you have been accepted and recognized for centuries and centuries. Homosexual and trans people have only been accepted for about 30 years or so, and that was at its earliest, in denmark where they passed and i quote “most rights of married heterosexuals, but not the right to adopt or obtain joint custody of a child”
if you know what time is, im pretty sure thousands upon thousands of centuries is more than JUST 30 YEARS OF BASIC RIGHTS!! You dont need a month because literally every year in the history of ever you have been accepted.
the man who has made this a thing is an owner of a bar in America (i dont know what state or city) and the reason he made it is because “the parades went too far and even had nudity”
I agree, there should not be nudity in the streets, but this is just stupid. You could have done literally anything else.

its ok to be hetero and cis, its ok to be gay and trans, but you don’t need a month to celebrate something that has been the norm for centuries. You do need a month to spread acceptance of something that has only been legal for 30 years but should have been legal since the dawn of time.

For next June, I propose we rename this month "Stonewall Month" or "Stonewall Remembrance Month" or "Stonewall Heritage Month" or something like that.

Why? Here's why:

+ PRIDE is a corporate festival in a time where LGBTQAI2S+ people are actively being unalived, unhoused, harmed

+ The events that unfolded at Stonewall and the courageous women who fought for their lives and the lives of their loved ones aren't widely known by LGBTQIA2S+ people. That is our heritage, our history and it must be centered

+ This month should be ALL about 1) advocacy (2) activism (3) redistributing wealth and giving out resources and aid (4) and organization. We need to be getting into groups and organizing politically and socially to save lives!

I cannot celebrate who I am when I'm resisting my literal unaliving . I am crying out for help and no one is answering my distress call. We must get together, we must organize. We can celebrate once we have won our peace and safety, and our equality.
