Level 57 : Grandmaster Droid

Lyric was a bard, who ironically lived a life full of gloom. When Lyric was yet a boy his only dream was to bring joy to his family and friends, it seemed to him the only way he was able to feel his own self-worth. But for poor Lyric bringing joy to anyone was no easy task. Lyric was no good at painting, no good at telling a joke, no good at much of anything. Lyric had always been fascinated by the traveling musicians who came to his town now and then, but lyrics father shunned any hint to the idea that his boy Lyric was going to have anything to do with music, so poor Lyric did not much of anything, other than studying his books by himself. Until one day, for his birthday while his whole family was present, to Lyrics extreme delight, he had received mandoline, a musical instrument, from his mother. Lyric was filled with joy and practiced diligently. One day while Lyric was practicing his father burst into the room his face filled with a look of frightening anger, Lyric jumped back in shock, dropping the mandoline. The father went forth grabbed the mandoline and crushed it against the wall. Lyrics eyes over filled with tears and sadness overwhelmed him. His father ordered him that night that he was going to grow up to become a man and he was to take a position in the field alongside him when he was of age. Lyric with mixed emotion and a broken heart, took off that very same night. Along his way Lyric found kindness in a family who took him in as an apprentice, and when Lyric had saved a good bit of money Lyric said his farewell to his adopted family to move onto his dream, that which being to be a traveling musician, something he was always captivated by. Lyric to this day has mixed emotions about his true family, he has regret it ended as it did, but has too much hatred to return. Lyric remains the lonely traveling musician, doing his best to inspire the little children to follow their dreams and not to think theyo re bound by fate to some predestined vocation.

ps. a common question I've received is: how did he become so pale? It's to show the melancholic feel of the character, i felt it gave more depth to his story, along with bringing that extra interest spark.

Hey i just wanna say that I love this skin and I like your other skins too! Like mischajay said, I love his Mandolin! It just completes the skin! Also I like the backstory for Lyric. I have a question, can I upload a modified version or versions of this skin? If you want you can see what I made. If I were to upload them then I would mention you and your skins in the post. Incredible skin and moving story! It's amazing how you manage to capture so much emotion in a face that is only 8x8 pixels.

By the way, the pale face seems fine to me-- sort of like it's painted.

Your skins are amazingly well done, they've got perfect contrast and not too pixely.
Although, I don't quite understand why lyric became pale.
