This is an orthodox texture pack that changes the texture of the paintings, and many other blocks. The striped wood is textured to be an icon of Christ the creator so that you can put it at the top of your church. instead of a trapdoor.
I obviously did not paint these icons myself but took them from royalty free websites that upload the icons for the sole purpose of people using them.
I recommend using the more blocks, walls, and slabs mod with this pack so you can have more variants of blocks that have the icon texture, but the texture pack works perfectly fine without the mod. and if you want to be able to select the painting you want to place to make it easier, download the paintings++ mod.
I made the pack more organized with the icons so that they match and are strictly eastern orthodox.
Feel free to give me ideas for textures to change for the purpose of building churches in Minecraft.

Also one thing to note is that when I hover over the pack in the options it says "incompatible (made for a newer version of Minecraft) this prompt appears in the moded and unmoded game. also to my knowledge i am playing on the most updated version of Minecraft ( 1.20.6 as i wright this) and i have the latest version on the paintings ++ mod
When I used my pack on 1.20.6 on a default installation it does say "made for newer version" but it can still load and be played, but with no mods.
Here is one of two options for you, make sure you are on 1.20.6 and all of your mods are for 1.20.6 and if that does not work then I can send you a link for my pack that's for 1.19.2 so you can use paintings++.
PS. The extra paintings are available on vanilla Minecraft and can be acquired via command blocks, and you can look up a video for the command.
I tested it out on a default installation of Minecraft, and it worked.
but if you use a curse forge installation and get the paintings ++ mod then you can get more icons because
the angels, theokos, and Christ the teacher icons are all secret paintings and can be acquired via command blocks. look up a video for more details. but the paintings ++ mod gives you a menu of paintings to choose from and it includes all the secret paintings.
