Title says it all.

What games are you nostalgic for that no-one has probably never heard of?

My answer is Crash N Burn for the PS2/Xbox.

Released in 2004, it was an amazing racing game that focused on crashes. Take enough damage, and you're out of the race. There was also arena deathmatches as well. But the kamikaze races were the best part. Basically, kamikaze races have 2 sets of racers race on a track, one going the right way, and the other going the wrong way. Glorious crashes insue.

It's such an amazing game, and yet, almost no-one talks about it when talking about fantastic PS2 games. And I even heard that servers for this game are STILL up, even after 12 years!

I await your answers.

Goof Troop and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for the SNES comes to mind for me. Even though they are well known I'm assuming most people on PMC don't know about these games.

Phalanx for SNES or GBA. You probably know it from it's box art, but as for actually playing it I doubt many people actually have.

Used to own the GBA port (sans epic box art), was a pretty good game. Remains to be one of my favourite shmups.

Mechassault 2 for the original Xbox, whenever somebody mentions "mech games" everyone points to Mechwarrior or Gundam, so i assume it isn't THAT well known.
Made by Day 1 (now known as Wargaming Chicago-Baltimore), the same guys who made the console World of Tanks games, Fracture (another fab game), and FEAR 1 and 3.

For a while, I only had the free trial that came with PC's back then(2009 ish), so I'd intentionally leave the laptop on for days and days with the game running so I wouldn't run out of WildTangent tokens.

EDIT: 4 million people isn't very representative of obscurity, but I'll just say it brings back more nostalgia than it loses in secrecy.

Viscera Clean-up Detail. Amazingly difficult and OCD game.

Also, I'm not sure how well-known it is, but Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGS and overall one of the best games ever made.

Earthbou- oh, wait.

Sonic Battles for the Gameboy Advance is good (Especially given the graphical limitations of the GBA), as well as LoZ: Four Swords Adventures (GBA/GameCube).

This game isn't totally unheard of, but I still don't see it brought up too often: Tyrian for PC. It's a vertical space shooter, but unlike pretty much every other shooter, you don't die in one goddamn hit. Apparently someone in the future thought, "Hmm, why don't we equip our ships with shields and armour so they'll actually last longer!" There's also lots of weapon customization so you can have a lot of different combinations.

Here's a longplay of it to get an idea of what's it like.

One of my first true video games I ever purchased/played/beat was Mario Pinball Land for the Gameboy Advance. For a Mario title, it's considered pretty obscure/unheard of (at least in my opinion/experience), and I enjoyed it a lot as a kid. Took a lot of time and patience, which I had a surprising amount of back then.

Dunno how many of you have heard of this, but everyone I've asked so far hasn't heard of this, so... I've posted about it a few times on PMC in various threads over the years and it's still one of my favorite lesser-known games.

Baten Kaitos: Origins has a super great story, memorable characters, and great gameplay. It's one of the few older titles I still go back to to play without going "gee, didn't this used to be better"? The soundtrack is pretty great too.

I'll barely count Banjo Kazooie as a unknown franchise. Although Nuts and Bolts was released in late 2008, so it isn't that unknown to newer gamers. And it was a best seller on the N64, and it sold very well on the Xbox360 version...

PikamoarViscera Clean-up Detail. Amazingly difficult and OCD game.

Ah I played Viscera Clean-Up Detail Shadow Warrior. Tis a good game, but nostalgic? Nah...

amazoDog161
And... Phew... THE ONE THAT I REMEMBER BEING THE BEST: wait for it Secret agent Clank!

MrrMidnightNeed for Speed Most Wanted is the first game I ever played and still play to this date, but I think it's quite well known.. :/

Both those games were platinum sellers tho, so I would think they're quite well known...

I have a bit more nostalgia for fairly recent games, like Battle of the Giants: Dragons for the Nintendo DS and Mini Ninjas for the Wii. I actually went back and played them a little while ago, and the charm was still there. I don't know if they count as unknown games, but nobody that I know has heard of these games.

I'm not sure exactly how know it is, but Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. Also Red Faction II. People may have been aware of this game but I'm pretty sure most have never actually played it. Oh, and I guess the original Star Wars Battlefront since people seem to only ever talk about the sequels. Seriously, it's like it really doesn't exist.

Oddworld, I never really played it but I seen my brothers play it, and they used to play it all the time aswell as Battlefront.

and I don't know if this is well known but I used to play True Crime: Streets of L.A all the time, it seemed like a knock off GTA, and I played it on the GameCube all the time.

Anyone remember Croc on the original Play Station? The game had one fatal flaw, if you wanted to change the direction you were facing, you had to move forward, tricky on small platforms.

I've heard of those series, but I would agree that they're not well known.
