Internal exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read ti
Lately, I've been trying to play Minecraft, but I've been lagging so much! Not lag that comes from my Minecraft settings but only lag from when I join MP servers! I really need help, I want to play and not get disconnected everytime I try to play, but it's just too hard to play because of this lag that I've been receiving on a daily basis.
Internal exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
^ After I get kicked, that pops up for a reason as to why I was disconnected. Also, when I click on the "Multiplayer" tab, every server takes about ten seconds to load.
The only mods that I have installed are OptiFine and Better Sprint Mod.

This has been happening ever since 1.6 came out. I am also using 1.6.2.
I'm on Windows 8 with the 64 bit thing (I don't know what it's called) [I'm new to this stuff]. If I need to provide even more specs (I think that's what it's called) then please tell me how I can show you them, I'm really desperate for help!

This thread has been dead for a good while. Time to give it the ol' lock.
ive had the same problem and i only have the pixelmon mod the toomanyitems mod and the damageindicators mod and i play on every server and it says that i have reinstalled minecraft and java multiple times ive tried to download different versions of java and it still happens i tried with an unmodded jar and it happened.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO!!!!!!
May a mod or someone lock this thread?
Tried it unmodded, DropDeadCoffee....still didn't work. And Vaxel, my internet has been pretty slow as well, what can I do about that?
You should probably talk with your internet provider to make sure that you're not the only one that is getting problems.
Does it work with an unmodded version of minecraft.jar? Try that, and then that would tell you if your mods are a problem.
There's alot of different reasons why this could be happening.
It could be your internet - if you see your internet slowing down when you go to Google, or something. Talk with your internet provider.
It could also be the server you're trying to play. They may be experiencing lag within they're server.
The better sprint mod could be causing you to lag, but I'm not entirely sure. I know for a fact it's not optifine. I've played on many servers before with optifine, and never experienced any lag.
If none of the three options above are doing anything for you, go to %appdata%, and delete .minecraft, but be sure to backup any saves, texture packs, or anything else you may want.

Have you tried playing with just an unmodded jar? Does it work then? And I don't think it would be optifine.

it might be the server but i heard optifine for 1.6 is really laggy so it might be the optifine
No, it's not the server, it's just my multiplayer, if you'd like I can record another video on a different server and show you.
I have no mods, very fast internet, and it does this too. It's just a bug that needs to be fixed by MC's developers.
