So I return once more with another entry to the Minecraft Fortnightly Building Challenge, now renamed to the Building Contest, present on the Minecraft Discord as per usual and hosted by Cookiie as always!
This theme can be inferred quite clearly as Minecraft's 12th anniversary; its 12th Birthday. It's amazing to see how much Minecraft has grown over the years, right? I've been with the game for over ten years myself now, and I wouldn't change that for anything. I've gone through huge ups and downs in my life over all that time, met so many people entirely thanks to it, and grown close to people I would never give up on all thanks to my experience with the game and its massive global community. It has helped nurture my creativity, give me something to do when I'm down, a place for refuge when I want to relax and rest; a place to enjoy when I want to raise my spirits and build my internal imaginations, people who care - people who don't! -, and a lot of massive variety, all compacted into one single game.
Of course, it hasn't all been perfect as said, but again, I wouldn't change what happened. I'm glad it all has and if I were to go back in time I quite like how my present is right now so I'd want it all to repeat again. I appreciate the game a lot.
So, for Minecraft's 12th birthday I built a huuuge cake with the giant number "12" placed a top for a smile for all those who eat, with many plates of really oversized food scattered around huge luxurious tables with cushions and table mats I can safely say I'm proud of. There are a whole twenty chairs here, which might not be enough for everyone, but it's enough for many when grouped together with all the wonderful builds everyone else has made for this too! I have really enjoyed seeing people's builds and contributing mine to the mass of celebratory creations! This has definitely been the most active contest for it and it is a contest to definitely be proud of.
Thank you again to Cookie for setting this up, to everyone responsible for the development of the game over the years, and to everyone I've met, especially those I've drawn closest to from meeting them over the game within that time (my amazing best friend and my wonderful girlfriend who I really, really appreciate and are absolutely lovely people who deserve the best for sure), and thanks to Aderlyon which has been a very fun team to be a part of for other builds that aren't my solo projects (unlike this, of course! This was a very fun solo project), and thank you to what I'm sure will be quite a bit longer in time over the future as well!
This build in particular was made by myself almost entirely during the 25th of May, 2021, with scattered pockets of activity over the days around it where I mostly just procrastinated! Oops. I almost ran out of time due to it! In fact, as of writing this, I don't even know whether I'll finish on time! Oh no. I'm trying though! I really am! XD Just waiting on a command while I type this, then I need screenshots... and there's barely a little over twenty minutes left! This is way, way too close and I'm very concerned. XD (Edit: Hasn't yet finished so I have to take the screenshots with nightvison; I just wanted end rods... ;~; )
Every element of this was handbuilt as that's what I find fun, but I used each element several times (such as the balloons, the plates of food, the chairs and the tables). :) Copy and Paste is so much more satisfying than speeding things up in another way, because it allows me to have a far more complete control over the specific details, which I find a lot more satisfying than most commands which only save time. Due to this however the time it took was quite long, but I feel it was worth it! I'm quite pleased with this build. :D
