For those who want higher FPS, or just want better 3D pixel art, then this pack is for who? You know who.
The official link should support the latest version of Minecraft. It might not support versions below 1.6. Use the following one if you want a pre-1.6 version.
EightPack_old
If you're already lagging, or still are lagging after using this texture pack, then I would recommend you install OptiFine.
If you want me to redo a texture, just tell me. I know most of the textures aren't too appealing.
This is a real 8 by 8 texture pack. And this isn't like other 8x8 texture packs, which merely are just the default textures that have been re-sized with super sampling enabled. I actually edit each texture one by one, simplifying it (or making it uglier).
Not all textures are half sized. But all textures are smaller than the default (16x).
I started this for myself (who has a crummy craptop), and I still use it myself. Now, you can use it too!

Additional Notes
You may say "Geez, this guy just makes simple/low resolution textures because they're easy and s/he can slack off." Well, it is true, but only to some extent. Most people make low resolution textures by simply using some program that decreases the resolution with anti-aliasing enabled. Call the BS on them. But there are those that take time and actually have the fun of editing the textures. Plus, it takes time to think up a good way to fit the textures in. You'd have a challenge to try to make beef look like beef. And for those who just pokes around with MS Paint for a few minutes, and then just officially releases the textures, well, shame on you. Yes, in a simple texture, you won't have to worry about and shading and all that stuff. But you'd also have to make the choice: Should I decrease realisticity for simplicity, or vice versa? Some people are just naturally better at fitting stuff when they have limited pixels, and others are better at choosing the right colors. So the next time you see a person announcing a simple texture, just wave, OK?Progress | 90% complete |

Update #41 : by UltimateRecursion 05/29/2015 5:59:15 pmMay 29th, 2015
Door update. And did some retouching to the fish textures. Still need to do item textures for door tho, so look out for that!
~Jungle door, in style of original (oak) door
~Dark oak door may get re-done, not quite happy with it.
~Iron trapdoor looks nice, but ugly. I might do it over again too.
~Birch, acacia, and spruce lookin' good!

In terms of the file, it's in assets/minecraft/ctm.png
If you want to know the layout, study the CTM.png from a high resolution texture pack. It's a lot easier to see.
I'm not completely sure it still works, having connected textures reduces your FPS.
I included because before the 1.6, all the blocks were in a single PNG. The glass would suck since the rims were too thick, and it's hard to see through it. CTM made it better(download Eightpack_old to see for yourself).
Now, the glass texture can be 16x16, so it's not really necessary.
Enjoy! :D
There are multiple 1x1 texture packs if you're feeling adventurous. Search it.
I'm currently updating to 1.8, be on the lookout!
